Here are some great bowling tips. You don’t have to own your own equipment but if you plan to play a lot, it is a good idea to invest in some of your own equipment. When you buy a ball, you can have it drilled so that it fits your hand just right.
Balls come in all kinds of different colors and weight. A long time ago, the balls where all black and weighted about 16 pounds. Today kids and women enjoy the sport and the weight ranges from 10 to 16 pounds. When you put your fingers through the holes, you don’t want a tight or loose fit. You want it to fit just right.
Now you’re ready to bowl. The way you stand is very important. If you don’t stand correctly the ball won’t deliver the way you want it to.
Everyone starts off as a beginner and can quickly move up into the ranks and become an advance player. You want to get the fundamentals of the game down first. Practice getting the ball to come out of your hands straight before you try a hook or a curve. Your step delivery comes in 3, 4 or 5 steps. This is pending on the body type of which delivery you should use.
Do you know what the pushaway is? The pushaway is the beginning of where the ball hits the floor to where it hits the pins. When you’re at the point where you want make at attempt to hit the pins, swing your arm off to the side while one leg stays in front and the other one goes right behind it.
Now we have the footwork to work on. Walk 3 to 5 steps then move the right leg behind the left leg as that one stays out in front.
Now your going to want to hit the bowling pins. They are 5 inches wide and the ball is 9 inches wide. Try and hit the pins in the center. Depending on where you hit the pins will determine if others will fall down as well. It takes a lot of practice, but your goal should be to hit all the pins down with one roll of the ball.
Now you’re going to want to work on your timing, where the ball makes contact with the floor. Depending on how good you are with this, will determine what kind of a bowler you will be. Perform the same task at home using pillows.
Now we will work on the follow through. The follow through is where your body goes once you let go of the ball to hit the pins. So your arms are still moving long after you drop the ball. When your hands get to shoulder length that is where your arms stop. The follow through should be a natural process. Now you know some of my bowling tips.
