If a team sport is more your style, you will still need to train on your own. If you play football, basketball, or volleyball, you will still benefit from endurance training like running or jogging. This is truly the case with basketball. The game requires you to run up and down the court. If you are in great shape from running steady, you will have little trouble keeping up with the game. The same is true for football. Endurance runs help quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs. In addition to endurance, you need to practice specific skills for each sport.
