Football Gambling – New Orleans Versus Buccaneers

Football sport betting handicappers are allowing the upstart Tampa bay buccaneers a 2nd look following their surprising 3-1 start to the 2010 football wagering season. Football gambling oddsmakers are furthermore giving the reigning Super Bowl Champion Saints a second football wagering look but for opposite factors.

Tampa Bay will sponsor New Orleans on Sunday.  The sportsbook opened up with the New orleans saints as 5 point road faves and with an over/under of 44.5.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 PM Eastern with a telecast on FOX.

The New orleans saints are arriving off their 2nd loss in three games to drop to an total record of 3-2 straight up and 1-4 with the NFL probabilities.  The Saints are arriving off a 30-20 loss at Arizona against a Cardinals team that started a rookie free agent quarterback.

New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees was intercepted three times as the Cardinals converted a total of 4 New orleans saints turnovers into 3 touchdowns even as New Orleans outgained Arizona 358-194.  A huge problem for the New orleans saints is the 31st rated ground attack which has come to a halt as a result of injuries to their leading 2 backs Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas.

Thomas is sketchy for Sunday and Bush is gone until next month.  Brees has had to shoulder the burden of the Saints offense and has a 96.0 quarterback rating with a 9/5 touchdown/interception percentage.  The defense has demonstrated progress from a year ago to rate 9th in the NFL. Brees is a star quarterback who’s been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including being picked to the Pro Bowl four times and being MVP of Super Bowl XLIV. He’s even been main on the cover of EA Games’ Madden NFL 11. But all the superstar and skill on earth is not going to carry a squad’s entire offensive strength, and Brees is likely to require some help from the remainder of the New orleans saints if they anticipate to make it to the playoffs this season.

The Buccaneers have a record of 3-1 both straight up and with the NFL lines after their 24-21 win at Cincinnati a week ago as 6.5 point underdogs.

The Bucs trailed 21-14 with only over two minutes to play but intercepted Carson Palmer twice to rally to win as Josh Freeman hit a td pass and then set up the match ending/winning field goal on the final possession that trailed.

Freeman has displayed notable progress in his 2nd year as the starter as he has an 84.8 Quarterback rating with a 5/3 TD/INT proportion.  Freeman is also the second foremost rusher on the Bucs averaging 7.5 yards per carry.  Tampa Bay ranks 15th for points permitted and ninth in pass defense, which is a good thing versus Brees.

This is a key NFC South Division competition that the Saints must win to avoid a 3-3 start.  The huge question is whether youthful and reconstructing Tampa Bay is ready to defeat the champs and start off at 4-1?

The long shot has gotten the cash in 11 out of the last 16 football betting rules matchups between these two squads.
