Lytham Hotels

Lytham St Annes sits between the green rolling countryside of western Lancashire and the Irish Sea. With a well-deserved reputation amongst the well-heeled classes, the town has long catered for the slightly higher end of the market.

The sights and sounds of Blackpool are just along the coast, with its famous tower, illuminations and 3 piers. The town of Blackpool is famous for its illuminations extravaganza in October and November every year, although there are further changes afoot. Whilst the plans for the super casino didn’t quite make it through the final government decision process, much of the town is still earmarked for improvement and regeneration, along with attracting businesses back into the area.

So down the coast again to St Annes.

The town has an attraction all of its own when it comes to the retired folk – they flock to the place in their thousands looking for somewhere to settle down once the corporate life is over. Lytham is famous for its shopping and boutique stores, as well as its bustling cafe culture. St Annes is more of a holiday destination, boasting a wealth of quality hotels and holiday accommodation.

Most of the St. Annes hotels are along the promenade just near the main shopping street. Many of the hotels in St Annes are great destinations for family holidays, long weekends or business functions, but like all businesses they have to move with the times and provide new and different services to their customers. Many have managed to create a roaring trade based on the town’s numerous golf courses, particularly when the Open Championship comes to Royal Lytham every few years. Others now feature leisure facilities and spa packages.

Pricing and packages among the different hotels is keen and always competitive. The hotel trade in St Annes is slightly different compared to it noisier Blackpool neighbour, so hoteliers in the town know who their particular customer base is and why come. Most Blackpool hotel owners would agree that their peak times are during the illuminations in October and November and the busy summer months, and the town can be eerily quiet outside those times.

St Annes will always be a popular destination for holiday makes and day visitors, due to its excellent local amenities and its proximity to the surrounding countryside and the Lake District just further north, which is why it is such an appealing place to go.
