As the English football year has come to a close it is now time to ponder on the condition of the English game and where it can be advanced. A lot of people have had their say on the way the game is operated and the way the ‘business of football’ is taking over from the where it should be; on the pitch.

Over the last decade there has been a huge entry of investment into football teams in England. A great deal of this investment has been from overseas with good and bad results. The well-known ‘top 4’ as they were called (Tottenham have now broken into that position) are all now under foreign ownership which leads us to believe that the English game is getting further away from it’s roots and shifting towards a more American system of Franchises. What is meant by this, is that in the American sports system the numerous sports teams across baseball, basketball, American football and ice hockey have a continuous circulation of players, managers and owners. If you look at the line-up for one season it is totally different for the next as there are massive amounts of money concerned when trading players to these Franchises. Yet this is not the scary part, lots of American Franchises have moved location in order to get more fans and revenue, our own instance is Wimbledon FC who went from FA Cup winners and regular Division 1 participants to moving their team to Milton Keynes. Will this become more universal?

A lot of Franchises For Sale opportunities are available in America, whoever comes in makes significant ammendments and can even move the club to another area of the country if the terms are correct. I am not saying that this will happen in England but with the constant big money being spent at the top level of football, some or most of the smaller teams in the lower leagues may have to look at the decision of moving. Most of these squads are operated as a small businesses and cannot fight with the money that is now invested, many are operated like a Home Based Franchise, with the smallest outgoings and operating everything in-house.

We found this last year when an owner has not realised their obligations and promises the fans will rise up and try to move the owner on. An example is Newcastle United where the supporters were very unhappy with the performances on the pitch and so turned on the ownership. The owner did put the club up for sale but could not locate a buyer as the asking price was significantly exaggerated, they have made it back into the premiership and now the teams fortunes may alter. We are now looking at every team in English football has a price, the same as all the Franchises For Sale choices in America. If the appropriate person with enough money offered the money for any club then it would be taken.

It now does not make a difference if the owner is foreign its just as long as they have the money. Is this appropriate? The days have dead where you have a so called ‘Home Based Franchise’, where the club is operated as a family and everything is dealt with internally. The Franchises of America are operated in an open marketplace for everyone to see and that is the way we have gone. Is this good for the game in England or have we lost our family orientated game and moved to a more commercial, business game?

Over the past 10 years there has been a lot of opponents of the MLS from many businesses and sports writers around the football world. Have a look at the league as a business example and think about individual Low Cost Franchises that formed the very start of the football league. Irrespective of what your opinion is of the football league it has been moderately successful in modern times and is still escalating each season with different Low Cost Franchises being able to join the league. The football league was formed in 1993 as the base for the subsequent years football world cup, this was a pledge that was made to FIFA if America was given the football world cup. It was thought that football would rise progressively as it has giant competitors with more recognised sports on US soil, but this football league would deliver it with a firm base of where to start. All the different clubs began as Franchise For Sale opportunity over the various regions in the US, extensive investment was made by businesses around the world to purchase and get the Low Cost Franchises underway and to form a Home Based Franchise for each major region or city.

The very first match started in 1996 when the football league consisted of an small 10 Home Based Franchise that were bought by business men and women as Franchise For Sale opportunities. The turnout for the matches were more than expected and the overall forecast was good. But, at the very start, the football league never honestly grew and the team and player quality was fairly weak, this joined with the franchises not being adept to be competitive with one another steadily put pay to crowd levels. A Home Based Franchise had found it complicated with the long travelling and costs that the football league had at the start, so the Low Cost Franchises declined over this start-up time.

After the 2002 football world cup where the American squad made the quarter-final stage, there was a an increase in the lure of the MLS and football in general. There was a new leader in control of expanding the MLS into a major leader in the US sporting market for the Low Cost Franchises and under this new supervision the MLS began to fetch in improved players from around the world.

The players performances on the grass still remains poor compared to that found at a big European soccer league but the amount of talented players that are now in the MLS, whether it be for the huge lucrative contracts or lifestyle changes, is increasing. Franchise For Sale in Toronto is now available and this improved the soccer leagues attraction to Canada, where soccer is more familiar.

We will now take a closer look at the Seattle Sounders team and how the club has progressed from it’s start to become a familiar Low Cost Franchises that has just begun in the league.

While the Seattle Sounders are in principle an expansion team for the 2009 Major League Soccer season they are anything but a recent name on the American soccer picture. The Sounders name dates back to the 1974 North American Soccer League and the city can direct to an almost unbroken chain of clubs at or near the uppermost level of the game in in America. The sport is extensively played at the amateur level, season ticket sales at over 20,000 and, with MLS increasing to the Sounders’ Pacific Northwest competitors Portland and Vanouver in 2011, all signs point to the Sounders becoming one of the league’s most successful clubs.

There are quite a few foes of the MLS from numerous fans and newspapers around the football market. Have a look at the MLS as a business mode and think about different Franchises that create the foundation of the soccer league. Regardless of what your view is of the soccer league it has been reasonably successful in current times and is still increasing each campaign with various Low Cost Franchises wanting to join to the leagues. The soccer league was formed in 1993 as the source for the next few years football world cup finals, this was a promise that was offered to FIFA if the USA was presented the football world cup finals. It was considered that football would grow bit by bit as it has huge rivals with more recognised sports in the US field, but this league would supply it with a stiff foundation of where to start. All teams started as Franchises For Sale preference over the different localities in America, substantial investment was given by world organisations and sponsors to buy the Franchises underway and to develop a Home Based Franchise for each main city.

The very first game begun in 1996 and the league consisted of an average 10 Home Based Franchise that were acquired by world organisations and sponsors as Franchise For Sale preferences. The turnout for the games were healthier than expected and the overall view was decent. But, at the start, the football league never truthfully flourished and the footballing quality was somewhat bad, this coupled with the squads not being able to be competitive with each other steadily put pay to attendance attendances. A Home Based Franchise had found it difficult with the huge travelling and outlay that the football league had at the beginning, so the Franchises endured over this start-up period.

After the 2002 football world cup finals where the US team go to the quarter-final phase, there was a a boost in the interest of the football league and football in general. There was a new manager in control of expanding the football league into a key leader in the US sporting market for the Franchises and under this new management the football league started to bring in better players from across the world.

The players merits on the pitch still remains smaller than most found at a big European footballing league but the quantity of high-class players that are now in the league, whether it be for the massive contracts or lifestyle choice, is getting better. Franchise For Sale in Toronto is now obtainable and this improved the MLS attraction to Canada, where football is more familiar.

Lets take a closer look at the San Jose Earthquakes club and how the club has grown from it’s start to become a familiar Franchises in the footballing league.

The Earthquakes is a reference to San Jose’s location near a few of geological fault lines, and the region’s semi-regular earthquakes. There have been numerous franchises in the Bay Area with this name, although there is no direct line. The very first lasted from 1974-1988 in the NASL and semi-pro WSA. The present club was almost named the Earthquakes at first but because of Nike’s power, the club used the Clash name until the 2000 season. The club competed in Major League Soccer from 1996-2005. The team was relocated to Houston before the 2006 season. In the summer of 2007 it was stated that the Quakes would return to footballing league for the 2008 season.

There have been many stances on the MLS from various pundits and coaches across the soccer world. We will have a glimpse at the soccer league as an organisation and deliberate on different Franchises that formed the soccer league. Despite what your view is of the soccer league it has been a fairly good hit in the US sports market and is progressing to escalate each season with different Franchises signing up to the league. The soccer league was formed in 1993 in anticipation for the following years world cup, this was a pledge made to FIFA if they were given the world cup tournament. It was thought that soccer would increase steadily as it has massive opposition from more established markets in America, but this league would provide it with a stiff origin of where to begin. Every team started as a Franchise For Sale chance across the cities in America, substantial amounts of cash was spent by local businesses and global sponsors to get the Franchises underway and to establish a Home Based Franchise for each key city.

The very first game was underway in 1996 and the MLS consisted of just 10 Home Based Franchise that were purchased by business people and big sponsors as a Franchise For Sale chance. The crowd for the first games were quite good and the common outlook looked good. However, at the kick off, the sport never truly grew and the quality of players on the field was pretty weak, this joined with the franchises not able to be competitive with each other gradually put pay to crowd attendances. A Home Based Franchise would struggle with the long distances and outlay that the league had at the beginning, so the Franchises declined in the over the long season.

After the 2002 world cup finals where the American team made the quarter-final stages there was a an increase in the attraction of the game. There was now a new chairman in control of building the MLS into a top sporting brand for the Franchises and beneath his managing of the league it started to see top players from around the world wanting to play in the MLS.

The quality of play on the grass even now remains below the quality that would be at a high European league but the amount of top players that are playing in the league, whether it be for the massive money or lifestyle, is improving. A Franchise For Sale in Toronto became available and this improved the interest to Canada, where soccer is more recognised.

We now take a concise glimpse at Toronto FC and how it has progressed over a few short years to develop into one of the most recognised Franchises in the MLS.

2007 was the debut season for Toronto FC, an expansion team in the previously all-American MLS. A number of Canadian clubs contend in lower-level leagues but Toronto FC will visibly be the countries key team, at least until or unless efforts to have the Montréal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps join MLS bear fruit over the next short years. Toronto FC’s red and white colours are those of the Canadian flag. The franchise emblem includes the Maple Leaf, the symbol of Canada and also prominent in the Canadian flag. Toronto FC are possessed by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) who also own the hockey Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL and basketball Toronto Raptors of the NBA.

The brand new MLB campaign has just got underway and there is quite a few baseball teams that are finding it a hard in the competitive sports economy market. Quite a lot of the Franchises have their own way of running their business models but quite a few of them are seeking out to find new investment as the expenses of running each of their different Franchises are rising each campaign. A great deal of the franchise owners were in need of a Franchise For Sale through the baseball leagues quite a few years gone when the forecast seemed nice, as the sport and stadiums develop into a worldwide prospect. Now a great deal of the Franchises owners have to be vigilant with all their Franchises and be conscious of the current global economy troubles and what it could mean for them if they do not start viewing all Franchises as a Home Based Franchise. What is meant by this term is lessening overheads to preserve the existence of the Franchises, each Home Based Franchise has the bare minimum overheads because it is believed to be a tightly knit unit and consequently not using outside supply as a foundation for their expected income.

The current sports market in baseball is quite flexible, quite a few Franchises owners in the major leagues and other sporting markets around the world are looking for new money as they present each Franchise For Sale to various potential investors across the world. The competitive nature of baseball does not finish on the pitch, it is much more alarming in the boardroom, potential investors want the best price for their opportunity so it may take many months or years to find the right owner for the franchise. The San Diego Padres have had quite a few owners and managers over their history but the faith that running Franchises as a Home Based Franchise has served them well. The franchise has gained from key money being invested and the franchise has grown on and off the field and are deemed one of the most reputable baseball clubs in the USA.

We now take a look at the San Diego Padres history and how they have performed on the field and in the boardroom.

The franchise was founded in 1969 and joined the MLB West Division as an expansion franchise. The franchise struggled in its early years, placing last in the division for six successive seasons. The 1978 season was the first in which the Padres earned a record above .500. The team made their first World Series appearances in 1984 under the jurisdiction of coach Dick Williams.

In 1996 the new coach Bruce Bochy turned the franchise as he guided the Padres to the division title while he earned the NL Manager of the year award. In the same year Ken Caminiti (third baseman) was named as the NL most valuable player (MVP). Bochy directed the Padres to another divisional championship in 1998. The team won the NL pennant once again in 1998 unfortunately they lost the World Series to the New York Yankees.

Dave Winfield became the first player to be elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001. Gwynn ended his career with 3,141 hits, and an inspiring .338 average. The Padres ended the season in 3rd spot with an appalling record of 79-83. The team lost their valuable star Mike Darr due to excessive drinking and driving early in Spring Training.

Throughout the years there has been many opinions on the MLS from numerous managers and broadcasters around the league. We will take a look at the MLS as a corporation and contemplate on individual Franchises that create the basis of the league structure. No matter what your opinion is of the MLS it has been a quite successful in recent times and is continuing to grow each season with different Franchises wanting to join the league. The MLS was established in 1993 as the basis for the subsequent years world cup finals, this was a pledge that was made to FIFA if the US were given the world cup finals. It was considered that soccer would increase steadily as it has great competition from more recognised sports in the US market, but this league would present it with a stiff foundation of where to begin. Every franchise started as a Franchise For Sale prospect across cities in America, considerable amounts of cash was provided by local sponsors and companies to get the Franchises working and to form a Home Based Franchise for each main city.

The very first game got underway in 1996 and the MLS comprised a mediocre ten Home Based Franchise that were purchased by local sponsors and companies as a Franchise For Sale prospect. The attendances for the games were somewhat adequate and the general forcast looked decent. But, at the start, the sport never truly took off and the quality on the field was relatively poor, this joined with the clubs not being competitive with each other steadily put pay to attendance averages. A Home Based Franchise would struggle with the long distance travel and expenses that the league managed at the beginning, so the Franchises declined over time.

After the 2002 world cup where the US squad go to the quarter-final point there was a an improvement in the standing of the game. There was now a brand new head in charge of developing the MLS into a major product for the Franchises and under this regime the league started to acquire top talent from around the world.

The footballing quality on the pitch still remains below the standard located at a top European league but the sum of talent that is now in the MLS, whether it be for the contracts or lifestyle, is increasing. A Franchise For Sale in Toronto is now obtainable and this enlarged the leagues fascination to Canada, where soccer is more recognised.

We now take a direct look at the New England Revolution team and how it has grown in the past few years to become one of the most recognised Franchises in the US.

The New England Revolution takes its name from the north-eastern district of the United States, which is recognised as New England – Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Previous clubs from this district have employed the New England name too, like the NFLs New England Patriots. The Revolution name is a reference to the American Revolution/War for Independence, which started in this area of the country. The club is widely referred to as “The Revs” by both followers and the regional press.

The club had little on-field success until the arrival of Liverpool FC legend Steve Nicol as head coach. Since he took over, the squad has been to every Eastern Conference championship game, winning four out of six.

Well the new season has just got underway and there is quite a few Major League franchises that are finding it a struggle in the ruthless sports market. All of the Franchises have their own way of operating their business systems but quite a few of them are trying to find new investment as the fees of operating all their different Franchises are increasing each season. A lot of the club managers were in need of a Franchise For Sale within the baseball leagues quite a few years past when the projections seemed good, as the sport of baseball, the grounds and playing personnel progressed into a world opening. Now a lot of the Franchises managers have to be alert with all their Franchises and be attentive of the existing world economy struggles and what it could imply for them if they do not start off thinking all Franchises as a Home Based Franchise. What is premeditated by this is lowering overheads to protect the life of the Franchises, each Home Based Franchise has the minimum overheads because it is thought to be greatly tight and so not using external resources as a base for their ongoing profit.

The current baseball market is relatively adaptable, quite a few Franchises managers around the major leagues and other markets around the globe are looking for new investment as they sell each Franchise For Sale to numerous businessmen across the globe. The sturdy spirit of baseball does not end on the field, it is much more fearsome away from it, businessmen want the best price for their franchise so it may take many years to discover the correct manager for the club. The San Francisco Giants have had quite a few managers over their long history but the thoughts that operating Franchises as a Home Based Franchise has worked well for them. The team has profited from major investment and the team has developed on and off the field and are deemed one of the most established baseball franchises in America.

We now take a peek at the San Francisco Giants history and how they have performed in the economy and sport.

The club came into being in 1883, is one of the oldest franchises in MLB. The club played in New York City until 1958 and was originally called the Gothams. The club won its first National League pennant in 1888, they gained the world championships in 1888 and 1889. In 1894 they gained the World championship but they could not accomplish much glory for next ten years. John McGraw was appointed as the manager of the club in 1902 and two years later they achieved a team record by winning 106 games. Under McGraw, the Giants won ten National League pennants and three World Series championships. McGraw managed the team until 1932.

Bill Terry joined the team as player-manager in 1933. Terry again fronted the Giants to pennant victories in 1936 and 1937 but, unfortunately beaten in World Series before the new leading power in major league baseball.

The Giants returned to the top in 1954, winning the World Series in a four-game upset with a squad that featured center-fielder Willie Mays, one of the baseball’s greatest all-around talents. The new team owner moved the team to San Francisco in 1958.

In 1987 and 1989 the team won two Western division titles. The team was joined by two superstars, Barry Bonds and Dusty Baker in 1993. All thorough the 1990s the Giants competed annually for the National League West division title. The Giants were defeated in the World Series in 2003 but recorded a record of 100 victories for the seventh time in team history and third time in San Francisco.

The 2010/11 campaign has just started and there are a lot of baseball sports franchises that are discovering it is difficult to survive in the competitive sports arena. All Franchises have their individual means of managing their organisation but a lot of of them are in search of new investment as the expenses of managing all successful Franchises are mounting each campaign. Lots of the franchises current proprietors were seeking for a Franchise For Sale within the baseball field a lot of years ago when the predictions appeared clear, as the sport, grounds and players progressed into a national opening. Now quite a few of the Franchises proprietors have to be cautious with all Franchises and be conscious of the current downturn and what it could require for them if they don’t start off taking into consideration all Franchises as a Home Based Franchise. What is intended by this is dropping costs to protect the survival of the Franchises, each Home Based Franchise has the least costs because it is looked at as being quite powerfully cohesive and so not using external supply as a foundation for their sustained survival.

The present baseball sports market is very multifaceted, a lot of Franchises proprietors around baseball and other national sports across the world are seeking new deals as they present their Franchise For Sale to various financiers across the world. The forceful nature of baseball will not finish on the grass, it is much more formidable off it, financiers want the best price for their money so it may take years to locate the precise financier for the proper club. The Cincinnati Reds have had a lot of senior managers over the years but the faith that managing Franchises as a Home Based Franchise has worked out well. The team has profited from key capital and the team has developed on and off the grass and are judged one of the admired baseball clubs in America.

We are going to take a peek at the Cincinnati Reds history and how they have played on and off the grass.

The club was at first called the Red Stockings. The club was established in 1869. The Red Stockings and six other Franchises formed the American Association (AA) in 1881 and Cincinnati won the very first AA pennant in 1882. In its initial seasons the club could not achieve the desired performance in spite of sincere efforts for nearly 30 years they ended every season in no better than third place. The franchise won their first NL pennant and World Series in 1919.

By the time of 1931 the franchise became bankrupt, soon in the year 1933 the franchise was bought by Powel Crosley Jr., and hired Larry Mac Phail as the General Manager of the club. In 1938 Vander Meer threw two consecutive no-hitters, becoming the only pitcher in major league history to do so. The franchise won successive pennants in 1939 and 1940.

In 1940 the franchise won their second World Series title after defeating the Detroit Tigers. The franchise faded as an NL power in the 1940s and early 1950s. The franchise peaked in 1975 and 1976, becoming the first NL team since the New York Giants of 1921 and 1922 to win successive World Series titles. The Reds won another division title in 1979, the team was led by pitcher Tom Seaver.

Lou Piniella guided Cincinnati as manager and to its fifth World Series title in 1990. Larkin led the team to the Central Division title and captured the division title in the 1995 season. Some of the players of the team that made into the hall of fame are Jake Beckley, Johnny Bench, Jim Bottomley and Mordecai Brown.

The brand new year is off, and there is already a few surprises in the new season. The interest amongst the enthusiasts is tremendous. Each Franchise has their own targets of making the playoffs and earning their respective title. We will take a peep at the Washington Nationals Franchise and how they have been produced from a Franchise For Sale to a key key of the MLB. Throughout the existing off field struggles there are numerous business ideas in which the clubs have had to take good look at, in their means of managing their Franchise. Every Franchise is run in a slightly different way, but the central principles of each Franchise is principally the same, this is the principle of overseeing their franchise as a Home Based Franchise. A lot of of the clubs enthusiasts have been raised around their baseball organisation and it is a gigantic piece of their day by day lives and consequently it is vastly important that it is run as a Home Based Franchise. Some of the current directors have also been raised around their organisation and this is a major explanation of why baseball is so important to the fans of their team. When the different Franchise For Sale breaks were offered, a giant section of enthusiasts had their vote and say about who should get and control the Franchise. Their team is taken so importantly as a district team that fan support far prevails over business and corporate attitudes. Some of the potential directors have had the obstacle of not being raised from around the Franchise district and consequently have been driven out by the fans feelings towards them. In the clubs brief history their has been a significant set of alteration in managers, finances and players but the support from the fans club has never disappeared as this Washington Nationals article will show.

The club came into being by the name of Montreal Expos in 1969, beside the San Diego Padres; it assumed the name of Washington Nationals in 2005. The club was earlier known as the Montreal Expos till the campaign of 2004. The Expos played their final campaign in Montreal and concluded the campaign in fifth place with a 67-95 record.

The club played as Washington Nationals for the first time in the 2005 season. The Nationals played their first 9 games and accumulated a 5-4 record counting the game held on the 6th April in which Brad Wilkerson served a cycle in the Nationals first ever win against the Philadelphia Phillies. The club beat the Arizona Diamondbacks with a score of 5-3 at the RFK Stadium. The Nationals made a significant record of 13-11 at the end of the 1st month. The Nationals are now run by Jim Riggleman. The club played their games in the RFK Stadium that is a professional sports stadium that opened in the autumn of 1961. The full name of the stadium is Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. The stadium was renamed for the slain presidential contender Robert Kennedy in 1969. The stadium now serves as the home of the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball and D.C. United of soccer league.

The Nationals have not appeared in any championships therefore they have not won any laurels. The Nationals have no member of the club represented in the Hall of Fame. They were known as the Montreal Expos and it is the 1st Franchise of the MLB to be outside the United States. The clubs players wear a uniform of white, blue, and red. The Expos have won two Division titles in 1981 and 1994.

The baseball year has started and the passion among the fans is rising each year. Each Franchise has their own ambitions of achieving the world series and lifting the trophy. We peep at the Milwaukee Brewers Franchise and how they have grown from a Franchise For Sale to a foremost team of the National League Central Division. Through the present global difficulties there has been many business methods in which the teams have had to alter, in their measures of managing a Franchise. Each Franchise is operated in a reasonably different way, but the core philosophy of every Franchise is chiefly the same, this is the opinion of operating their franchise as a Home Based Franchise. A lot of of the clubs fans have grown up around their club and it is a very big piece of their lives and consequently it is really imperative that it is run as a Home Based Franchise. Several of the existing team chairmen also grew up around the locality and this is a major rationale of why baseball is so key to the supporters of their squad. When the different Franchise For Sale chances were out there, a vast amount of fans had their vote and say about who should buy and manage the Franchise. Their baseball club is taken as a local product that fan influence far outweighs business and corporate ways. Several of the prospective team chairmen have had the obstruction of not growing up around the Franchise area and consequently have been puched out by the fans views towards them. In the teams history their has been a large variety of adjustments finances and staff but the constant support from the fans team has never left as this Milwaukee Brewers article will show.

The franchise began its existence in 1969 as the Seattle Pilots, created as part of that year’s MLB expansion together with Kansas City , Montréal, and San Diego . The franchise was renamed as Brewers to honour Milwaukee ‘s beer-brewing history. The franchise became the Brewers and originated as the Seattle Pilots, a franchise that joined the AL in 1969. In 1970 the Brewers concluded in 4th place in the AL West with a 65-97 record. The Brewers Franchise reached its summit in the early 1980s, in 1981 the franchise won the second half of the season and played the New York Yankees in a playoffs mini-series that they finally lost. Milwaukee made its first trip to the World Series in 1982, but went down to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The season of 1988 proved to be a strong season as they went just 2 games short with a solid record of 87-75. Following this year, the franchise slipped, posting mediocre records from 1989 through 1991, resulting adversely for manager Tom Trebelhorn who had to leave the franchise. The Brewers were seen struggling to achieve notable records in the mid 1990s. The franchise was reorganised in the year 1994 as they captured last place with a score of 53-62. The franchise was transferred from the American League to the National League in 1998 in baseball’s expansion and shift. Their new home, Miller Park was launch in 2001. The Brewers were energised and stimulated at the opening of their new home but due to injuries they finished their season in 4th place with a record of 68-94.

Manager Davey Lopes was fired in 2002 as the Brewers get off to a terrible 3-12 start. They continued their struggle to achieve glory but they finished the season with a teams worst 56-106 score.
