Tips To Make Yourself Jump Higher

Jumping higher is essential in basketball, there is no way around it. This could be one of the most important parts of the game, because you are required to jump a lot. You are going to need to be able to hook shots, and block shots or passes. So basically you are going to need to be a good jumper to be valuable.

So how exactly is it possible to jump higher? The concept is easy, work out the muscles need to jump and you will jump h igher. The problem is that these are actually complex muscles, and they need unique exercises to work them. If you work out the muscles that you require to jump, they can actually become much bigger and stronger. The muscles that you will use to jump are the dorsi flexors, the calf muscles and the majority of your leg muscles.

The dorsi flexors can be exercised well by any exercise involving pressure on the balls of the feet. One way you can work out this muscle is by walking on the balls of your feet.

Calf muscles can be easily worked on by running on incline or doing some simple calf raises.

The muscles of your leg can be worked out by doing suicide runs. Most coaches run this drill with their players in order to strengthen their jumping power. In order to do this exercise, just start from the baseline of a track and run 15 feet. Then you have to stoop and touch the ground with your fingertips. Complete it by running to the baseline. Gradually you must increase the distance repeatedly by 15 feet until you have reached 90 feet.
